Morning (AM) peak definition:

Any service arriving in the city between 7.00am and 9.00am.

Evening (PM) peak definition:

Any service departing the city between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Alamein

There’s a new timetable for customers on the Alamein line, commencing from first service, Sunday 22 April. These changes are part of moving to a Metro train network for Melbourne, improving the services across the city, for everyone, everyday.

What you need to know about the new timetable.

  • There are 11 additional services on Sunday, with eight of these in the evening (after 7pm).
  • The number and frequency of weekday and weekend services on the Alamein line will remain the same.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of weekend services, please check these before your next weekend travel with Metro.

Belgrave/Lilydale

From Sunday 22 April, there will be a new and improved timetable for customers on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines. These changes are part of moving to a Metro train network for Melbourne, improving the services across the city, for everyone, everyday.

What you need to know about the new timetable.

  • Additional weekend services will provide a train every 10 minutes from any station between Ringwood and Flinders, between 10am and 7:00pm all weekend to and from the city.*
  • Additional weekend services will provide a train every 20 minutes for customers travelling between Ringwood and Belgrave/Lilydale between 10am and 7:00pm all weekend.
  • Customers travelling to stations between Ringwood on each line should board the correct service (i.e. either a Belgrave or Lilydale service) from the departure station to eliminate having to interchange at Ringwood, the increased frequency of service allows for this.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of both the weekday and weekend services on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines. You should check these before you travel next with Metro.

Craigieburn

There’s a new timetable for customers on the Craigieburn line, commencing from first service, Sunday 22 April. These changes are part of moving to a Metro train network for Melbourne, improving the services across the city, for everyone, everyday.

  • On the weekend all Craigieburn line services to the city will travel via the City Loop before arriving at Flinders Street.
  • On the weekend all Craigieburn line services from the city will depart from Flinders Street and travel via Southern Cross.
  • The number and frequency of weekday and weekend services on the Craigieburn line will remain the same.
  • Extra services will be added to the Craigieburn line to get you to and from all the big events across weekends as required. Information on these will be available online at metrotrains.com.au.

Pakenham & Cranbourne

From Sunday 22 April there will be a new and improved timetable for customers on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines. With significant changes to the weekend timetable and the introduction of two new stations, there’s a lot happening on the Pakenham/Cranbourne Line to improve your Metro travel.

What you need to know about the new timetable.

  • Additional weekend services will provide a train every ten minutes for customers travelling between Dandenong and Flinders Street between 10am and 7pm all weekend, to and from the city.
  • Additional weekend services will provide a train every 20 minutes for customers travelling between Dandenong and Pakenham and Dandenong and Cranbourne between 10am and 7pm all weekend, to and from the city.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of both the weekday and weekend services on the Pakenham/Cranbourne lines. You should check these before you travel next with Metro.
  • Two new stations will open from April 22nd, Cardinia Road and Lynbrook.

  • Additional weekend services will mean a train every 10 minutes from any stop on the Frankston line, between 10am and 7pm all weekend, to and from the city.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of both the weekday and weekend services on the Frankston line. You should check these before you travel next with Metro.

Glen Waverley

  • There will be a 30 minute service frequency after 8pm on Sunday nights.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of weekend services, please check these before your next weekend travel with Metro.

Hurstbridge

From Sunday 22 April, there will be a new and improved timetable for customers on the Hurstbridge line. These changes are part of moving to a Metro train network for Melbourne, improving the services across the city, for everyone, everyday.

What you need to know about the new timetable.

  • Weekend and inter-peak (between the morning and evening peaks, weekdays) services will stop at all stations between Clifton Hill and Jolimont. These additional services will mean a train every 10 minutes at stations from Clifton Hill to Jolimont on Saturdays between 7:00am and 7:00pm and on Sundays between 10:00am and 7:00pm.
  • After 8pm on Sundays additional services will mean a train every 30 minutes.
  • Services between Eltham and Hurstbridge will run every 60 minutes after 8pm on Sundays.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of all services on the Hurstbridge line. You should check these before your next weekend travel with Metro.

Belgrave/Lilydale

Sandringham

  • The number and frequency of weekday services on the Sandringham line will remain the same.
  • There will be two additional services on Sunday mornings, one from Sandringham to the city at 9.50am and one from Flinders Street at 10.52am to Sandringham.
  • There will be minor changes to departure and arrival times of weekend services on the Sandringham line. You should check these before your next weekend travel with Metro.

South Morang

From Sunday 22 April, the Epping line becomes the South Morang line, with a new and improved timetable for all customers on the line. These changes are part of moving to a Metro train network for Melbourne, improving the services across the city, for everyone, everyday.

What you need to know about the new timetable.

  • South Morang station will open, extending the line from Epping station.
  • There will be 10 new weekday services, including 8 in the peak periods.
  • An eight-minute service frequency will run during the morning and evening peak between South Morang and Flinders Street.
  • There will be six additional services on Sunday evening from 7pm, providing a 30 minute frequency.
  • All departure and arrival times of weekend services will change from those on the previous Epping line timetable. You should check these before your next weekend travel with Metro.
